Terms & Conditions of Service β STV Transportes

Welcome to STV Transportes. By booking or using our transportation services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully, as they define the rights and responsibilities of both STV Transportes and our clients.
1. Luggage and Lost Items
For your safety and convenience, we recommend keeping carry-on luggage and important documents with you at all times.
At the end of each service, our driver will inspect the vehicle to ensure no personal belongings have been left behind. Any items found will be returned whenever possible.
While all luggage is handled with care, STV Transportes is not responsible for damage, loss, or theft of luggage or personal items.
We strongly recommend not packing valuables or fragile items in stored luggage.
Any liability attributable to STV Transportes for lost or damaged luggage, if applicable, is limited to a maximum of USD $100 per passenger.
2. Rates and Payments
For groups larger than 5 passengers, an additional USD $20 per person will apply, up to a maximum group size of 10 passengers per vehicle.
All rates include VAT.
Rates may be adjusted in the event of unexpected fuel price increases. Clients will be notified in advance should any adjustments be necessary.
Payment Methods
- If the pick-up location is Monteverde or Flamingo, payment may be made prior to the service via card terminal.
- If the drop-off location is Monteverde or Flamingo, payment may be made after the service via card terminal.
- For all other locations, full payment must be made in advance to the following Banco Nacional de Costa Rica accounts under STV de Monteverde (Legal ID: 3-101-397012):

- Payment confirmation must be emailed to info@gocostaricatour.com
- For large groups and/or high-season services, STV Transportes reserves the right to require full prepayment in advance. Once services are prepaid, they become subject to the cancellation terms outlined below.
3. Delays and Cancellation Policy
To provide fair and reliable service to all clients, the following terms apply:
Delays
- Delays between +3 and +5 hours will incur a USD $50 surcharge.
- Any scheduled arrivals delayed beyond 9:00 p.m. will incur a USD $75 surcharge.
- STV Transportes is not responsible for delays caused by airlines, customs or immigration procedures, road conditions, traffic, or other third-party factors beyond our control.
Cancellations
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the scheduled service time.
- Cancellations made 24β48 hours before the service are subject to a 50% charge.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the service, or no-shows, will be charged 100% of the total amount.
- Cancellation timelines are based on the original scheduled service time, regardless of delays, weather disruptions, or changes to arrival plans.
- If a client requests a reschedule, STV Transportes will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the change, subject to vehicle availability and possible additional charges.
4. Refund Policy
- Refunds are processed strictly in accordance with the cancellation terms above.
- If a service is cancelled by STV Transportes due to in-country weather conditions, road closures, or unforeseen operational circumstances, clients may choose between:
- A full refund, or
- A reschedule at no additional cost.
- Refunds will be issued to the same account or card used for payment.
- Please allow 5β14 business days for refund processing, depending on the banking institution.
5. Force Majeure
STV Transportes shall not be held liable for failure or delay in the performance of its services due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to in-country weather conditions, natural disasters, road closures, strikes, government restrictions, or other acts of God. In such cases, the refund and rescheduling policies outlined herein shall apply.
6. Privacy Policy
STV Transportes collects only the personal data required to provide transportation services, including names, contact information, travel details, and payment confirmation.
Personal information is not shared with third parties except when required for operational purposes (such as subcontracted transport providers) or by law.
STV Transportes does not store credit card information.
By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.
7. Service Conditions
All vehicles are operated by licensed, professional drivers in compliance with Costa Rican transportation regulations.
Travel times may vary due to road conditions, weather, or traffic. STV Transportes is not responsible for delays beyond its control.
Clients must provide accurate pick-up information, including hotel name, address, and a valid contact number.
Eating, smoking, or consuming alcohol inside the vehicles is strictly prohibited.
STV Transportes does not provide travel insurance. Clients are strongly encouraged to obtain their own travel insurance to cover cancellations, delays, and non-refundable costs.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any disputes arising from these services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Costa Rican courts.
